In Buried, out Oct. 8, kidnappers ambush a convoy, kidnap a truck driver and bury him alive with a cellphone, which he uses to make and take calls. But just how accurate is that scenario? And how long would the unfortunate man have to live?

But when he wakes up six feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival. Buried with only a cell phone and a lighter, his contact with the outside world and ability to piece together clues that could help him discover his location are maddeningly limited. Poor reception, a rapidly draining battery, and a dwindling oxygen supply become his worst enemies in a tightly confined race against time, fighting panic, despair and delirium, Paul has only ninety minutes to be rescued before his worst nightmare comes true.

Buried alive. It must be a universal nightmare. I read Edgar Allan Poe's "The Premature Burial" when I was 7 or 8, and the thought troubled me for many a dark night. You are alive, you can move, you can scream, but no one will hear.

I recently saw Buried and though I immediately told everyone to see the film - and will continue to do so - there are a couple things that bothered me after I saw it.
