Sweden’s first major golf champion Henrik Stenson, returns after a stunning 2016 performance. In 2016 Stenson won the European Tour’s Race to Dubai with wins at the Open Championship and the BMW International. He was Sweden’s Male Athlete of the Year for 2016 and called last season “the best year of my career.” Stenson won the Open Championship by three strokes over Phil Mickelson to become the first Swedish male to win a major. Stenson shot 20-under 264 to set a major-championship record for total score and matched the major record for strokes under par.
