The Cincinnati Bearcats football program represents the University of Cincinnati in college football. They compete at the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level as members of the American Athletic Conference, and have played their home games in historic Nippert Stadium since 1924. As of September 7, 2015, the Bearcats have gone 76-29 since 2007, while also winning five conference titles and earning two BCS Bowl berths in the same span, making them one of college football's fastest-rising programs. They have also earned a bowl berth every year, with only one exception (2010) since the 2006 season.

The Connecticut Huskies football team is a collegiate football team that competes in NCAA Division I FBS and the American Athletic Conference. Connecticut first fielded a team in 1896, and participated in Division I-AA until 1999.

The Houston Cougars football program is an NCAA Division I FBS football team that represents the University of Houston. The team is commonly referred to as "Houston" or "UH" (spoken as "U of H"). The UH football program is a member of the American Athletic Conference West Division. Since the 2014 season, the Cougars have played their home games on campus at TDECU Stadium, which was built on the site formerly occupied by Robertson Stadium, where they played home games from 1941 to 1950 and from 1997 to 2012.

The SMU Mustangs football program is a college football team that represents Southern Methodist University. The team competes in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision as a member of the American Athletic Conference.

The South Florida Bulls football team represents the University of South Florida in the sport of American football. The Bulls currently compete in the American Athletic Conference (The American) of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bulls began playing in 1997, holding their first team meeting under a shade tree, as the school had no proper football facilities on campus. The team plays its home games in at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The Tulane Green Wave football team represents Tulane University in the sport of American football. The Green Wave compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as a member of the American Athletic Conference (The American). The football team was coached by Curtis Johnson from 2012 to 2015, and plays its home games in Yulman Stadium on its campus in Uptown New Orleans.

The UCF Knights football team represents The University of Central Florida (UCF) in the sport of American football. The Knights compete in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the East Division of the American Athletic Conference (The American). Their current head coach is Scott Frost, who has led the team since 2015. The Knights play their home games at the 45,000 seat Bright House Networks Stadium, which is located on UCF's main campus in Orlando, Florida, United States.
