Universal Cheerleaders Association was founded in 1974 by Jeff Webb to provide high quality educational training for college and high school cheerleaders through summer camps and clinics on college campuses.

By combining high energy entertainment with traditional school leadership, Webb and his organization have driven the development of an international phenomenon that now not only includes millions of young Americans, but also a rapidly growing number of participants worldwide.

The International Cheer Union (ICU) was established on 26 April 2004 and is the recognized world governing body of Cheerleading. ICU comprises of 105 member National Cheer Federations / 3.5 million athletes on all continents, hosts World Championships consistently welcoming over 70 nations, many global continental and regional championships, and continues to grow as a unified voice for all those who are dedicated to the positive advancement of cheerleading throughout the world.

The JAM Brands, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, provides products and services for the cheerleading and dance industry.[1] Competitions, camps, uniforms/apparel, conferences, and choreography are the services and products found at the company.

Varsity Brands Inc. is made up of three companies: Varsity Spirit, which sells uniforms, hosts competitions, and runs instructional cheerleading and dance camps; Herff Jones, which is a provider of graduation and educations products such as class rings, jewelry, caps and gowns, yearbooks and recognition products; and BSN Sports, a distributor of sports uniforms and equipment.

Established on the 5th July 1998, the International Federation of Cheerleading (IFC) is a non-profit federation based in Tokyo, Japan and is the world governing body of cheerleading.
