The Abilene Christian Wildcats football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Abilene Christian University located in the U.S. state of Texas. The team are members of the Southland Conference. The school's first football team was fielded in 1919. The team plays its home games at the 15,075 seat Shotwell Stadium. They are coached by Ken Collums. For the 2013 season, Abilene Christian competed as an Independent in the NCAA Division I FCS.

The Central Arkansas Bears football program is the intercollegiate American football team for University of Central Arkansas located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Southland Conference. Central Arkansas's first football team was fielded in 1908. The team plays its home games at the 8,035 seat Estes Stadium in Conway, Arkansas. The Bears are coached by Steve Campbell, in his second year.

The Houston Baptist Huskies football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Houston Baptist University located in Houston, Texas. The team currently competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as a full member of the Southland Conference. Houston Baptist's first football team was fielded in 2013 for a seven (7) game developmental season. The Huskies finished 2013 with a 3-4 record. Since the 2013 games were played during a developmental season, records and statistics are considered unofficial. The team played most of its home games at Crusader Stadium in Houston, Texas that season with one home game being played at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Incarnate Word Cardinals football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of the Incarnate Word located in San Antonio, Texas. The team originally competed in NCAA Division II as members of the Lone Star Conference. In 2013, the school moved to Division I. For the 2013 season Incarnate Word competed as a member of the Southland Conference for all sports except football. Football competed with an 11-game schedule as an Independent.

The Lamar Cardinals basketball team represents Lamar University in NCAA Division I men's basketball competition. The Cardinals compete in the Southland Conference and have played home games in the Montagne Center since 1984. The Lamar University basketball team is one of the school's most storied athletic programs.

The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Southland Conference. McNeese State's first football team was fielded in 1940.
