Zico is notable for his successful crossover skills in the Korean hip hop scene, maintaining an underground reputation along with mainstream appeal as a Korean idol. He is also a producer of both K-pop and Korean hip hop music.

Baek Ji Hye (Korean: 박지혜, born July 21, 1986), better known by her stage name Zia (Korean: 지아), is a South Korean singer.

Choi Jun-hong (Hangul: 최준홍; born October 15, 1996) better known by his stage name Zelo, is a South Korean rapper, dancer, singer and beatboxer. He is best known as a member of the South Korean K-Pop group B.A.P as the youngest and the lead rapper of the group. He made his recording debut with the single "Never Give Up" under B.A.P's sub-unit Bang&Zelo in November 2011. He is currently signed under TS Entertainment.

Zack Kim is a Korean guitarist who has become known for his mastery of a technique called two-handed tapping, which involves tapping the guitar strings with both the left and right hands simultaneously.

ZE:A (Hangul: 제국의 아이들), also known as Children of Empire, is a South Koreanboy band formed under Star Empire Entertainment in 2010. The group composed of nine members: Kevin, Kwanghee, Siwan, Lee Hoo, Taecheon, Heechul, Minwoo, Hyungsik and Dongjun. The group released their debut EP, Nativity, and lead single, "Mazeltov" on January 7, 2010, alongside their showcase performance five days later. The group debuted on KBS's Music Bank on January 15, 2010.

Yurisangja with band members Park Seung-hwa (born 11 March 1969) and Lee Se-jun (born 6 July 1972) is a South Korean male duo formed in 1997, singing pop-ballads.

Jung Yun-ho (born February 6, 1986), also known by his stage name U-Know Yunho or simply U-Know, is a South Korean singer, actor, dancer, and a member of the pop duo TVXQ. Born and raised in Gwangju, South Korea, Yunho auditioned for the Korean talent agency S.M. Entertainment in 2001. After over two years of training, Yunho debuted with TVXQ in December 2003.

Kim Yubin (Korean: 김유빈; Chinese: 金婑斌; Japanese: キム・ユビン; born October 4, 1988), commonly known as Yubin (also spelled Yoobin), is a South Korean singer, rapper, lyricist and composer. She is the main rapper of the South Korean girl group Wonder Girls, which debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2006. She replaced original member Hyuna who left the group in July 2007.

Yang Yoseob, (Hangul: 양요섭; Hanja: 梁耀燮; born 5 January 1990) more commonly known as Yoseob, is a South Korean idol pop singer, dancer and musical actor. He is the main vocalist of the South Korean boy group Beast.

YB, formerly known as Yoon Do-hyun Band (Hangul: 윤도현밴드), is a South Korean rock band. Formed in 1996, the band consists of Yoon Do-hyun (lead vocals, keyboard, guitar), Heo Jun (guitar, keyboard), Kim Jin-won (drums), Park Tae-hee (bass guitar) and Scott Hellowell (guitar). Yoon Do-hyun (born February 3, 1972) is a South Korean hard rock/folk rock singer, musician, and songwriter. He is the founder and lead vocalist of the Yoon Do-hyun Band (YB) since 1996. Yoon is also an MC on TV variety programs (notably Yoon Do-hyun's Love Letter) and a musical theatre actor.

Lee Eun-Jin (Korean: 이은진, born March 17, 1979), better known by her stage name Yangpa (Korean: 양파, meaning "onion"), is a South Korean singer. She studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

VIXX (Korean: 빅스 pronounced "viks"; acronym for Voice, Visual, Value in Excelsis) is a six-member South Korean boy band, signed under Jellyfish Entertainment. All members participated in Mnet's survival reality show MyDOL and were chosen via an elimination system through viewer votes. The name, VIXX, was also chosen by viewer votes. VIXX consists of N, Leo, Ken, Ravi, Hongbin and Hyuk. They are predominantly known as a concept or performance group whose music, lyrics, choreography, and overall stage performances are crafted together to tell a story or concept.

Uptown 3000 was a Korean American hip hop duo on the record label The Machine Group CEO Alvin & Calvin Waters which consisted of Carlos Galvan aka "Cali-Mexci" and Steve Kim aka "Kwon". The duo was a spinoff of Uptown, a Korean hip hop group which was active in the late 1990s whose sales reached 6 million. The duo is considered defunct as the original Uptown made its comeback in Korea in 2006, which Kim and Galvan were a part of. The group has been credited with being the first Korean hip hop group to closely resemble anything similar to American style hip hop.

Uptown (업타운) is a South Korean hip hop group which debuted in 1997. Uptown was first created in 1996 when R&B and hip-hop were first introduced to Korea. The group's four original members are Chris Jung, Carlos Galvan, Steve Kim and Tasha Reid. The group underwent several lineup changes and then disbanded in 2000. The group made a comeback and released their album, Testimony in May 2006. Steve Kim, Carlos Galvan and Chris Jung returned to the group without Tasha Reid. The female spot in the group was initially given to half-Caucasian half-African American rapper Say, but was soon replaced by teenage artist Jessica H. O. who was featured in their 2006 album, Testimony. For their 2009 album, New Era, the group went through yet another lineup change, replacing Steve Kim and Carlos Galvan with Roy Kim, Jonathan Moon, and Michael Horton.

Untouchable (Korean: 언터쳐블) is a South Korean hip hop duo managed by TS Entertainment. The group released their first single on August 24, 2006, but made their official debut on October 10, 2008 with their hit single "It's Okay" ft. Hwayobi.

UNIQ (Hangul: 유니크) is a five-member Chinese-South Korean boy group formed by Chinese company Yuehua Entertainment in 2014. The group consists of Zhou Yixuan, Kim Sungjoo, Li Wenhan, Cho Seungyoun, and Wang Yibo. UNIQ officially debuted on October 20, 2014 with their debut single "Falling In Love" in both China and South Korea.

United N-generation (also known as UN) was a Korean musical group from South Korea under NH Media (then NH Planning). It consisted of two members: Choi Jung-won and Kim Jeong-hoon. They released 5 albums from 2000 to 2005. "For a Lifetime", a single from their first album, was their first significant hit.

Uhm Jung-hwa (Hangul: 엄정화; hanja: 嚴正化; born August 17, 1969) is a South Korean actress, singer, and lingerie designer. Uhm began her career as a chorus member of MBC, one of the three major South Korean broadcasting companies, from 1987 until 1990. She made her film debut in a 1991 to 1994 film Marriage Story, and released her first studio album Sorrowful Secret the same year.

Ulala Session (stylized as ULALA SESSION) (Korean: 울랄라 세션) is a K-pop boy band that gained popularity after it won the 2011 talent show competition Superstar K3. Ulala Session's members are: Lim Yoon-taek (b. ca. 1980 – d. 2013), Goon jo (b. ca. 1980), Kim Myung-hoon (b. ca. 1983), Park Seung-il (b. ca. 1981), and Park Kwang-sun (b. ca. 1990).

Lee Hye-Ryeon (이혜련), name changed to Heo Yun (허윤), best known as U;Nee (Hangul: 유니; May 3, 1981 – January 21, 2007), was a South Korean singer, rapper, dancer and actress who was found hanged at her apartment having committed suicide.

U-KISS (Korean: 유키스, Japanese: ユーキス) is a South Korean boy band formed by NH Media in 2008. Their name is an acronym, standing for Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star. The group consists of Soohyun, Eli, Kiseop, Kevin, Hoon, AJ and Jun.  Their breakthrough hit was Man Man Ha Ni (2009) from their EP Conti UKISS. U-KISS is known for their international popularity, especially in Latin America where they have conducted various tours. They released their first full-length album Only One on February 3, 2010. In September 2011, U-KISS released their second full-length album, NEVERLAND. They made their formal debut in Japan in 2011 with the release of the single "Tick Tack".  The second single is entitled "Forbidden Love" while their first Japanese full-length album was A Shared Dream (2012). Typhoon (타이푼) is Korean mixed hip hop group consisting of a female vocalist, a male vocalist and a rapper. Typhoon is signed with Trifecta Entertainment.

In July, members of MBLAQ talked about a group of girls who debuting under its new company to create some interest among fans. Then it was revealed that the agency J.Tune Camp was preparing to release his new girl group 5 members X.

Two Two (투투) was Korean pop group during the mid-1990s. They garnered great popularity with their hit debut single "One and a half" (일과 이분의 일).

TVXQ (stylized as TVXQ!), an initialism for Tong Vfang Xien Qi (Chinese: 東方神起), is a South Korean pop duo consisting of U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin. They are known as Tohoshinki (東方神起, Tōhōshinki?) in Japanese releases, and are sometimes referred to as DBSK, an abbreviation of their Korean name Dong Bang Shin Ki (Hangul: 동방신기). Girls' Generation-TTS (Hangul: 소녀시대-태티서, also known as TTS, TaeTiSeo, or Girls' Generation-TaeTiSeo) is a subgroup of South Korean girl group Girls' Generation, formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2012. It is composed of three Girls' Generation members: Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun. The group released their debut album, Twinkle, in 2012 and released a second one, Holler, in 2014. The group also released their third one, Dear Santa, in 2015

TRAX (originally The TRAX) is a South Korean rock band formed in the summer of July 17, 2004 by S.M. Entertainment and formerly produced by X Japan's co-founder Yoshiki. The name "TRAX" refers to "recording tracks", but also stands for the first letter of each original member's stage name, Typhoon of the Rose Attack on X-Mas. Originally a nu metal and alternative rock band, they changed to a straight pop rock sound when drummer Rose left in 2006.

They are one of Korea's first hardcore punk bands and also the nation's first band to introduce youth crew and straight edge hardcore. Due to their extensive travels and organizing overseas tours in Korea, they are one of Korea's most-disseminated bands, being widely known around the world in their own niche genre.

The Boss (대국남아, often referred to as DGNA or, incorrectly, D-NA) is a South Korean boy band with five members, formed under Open World Entertainment in 2010. In South Korea they are known as Dae Guk Nam Ah, literally meaning The Boys of Super Space, which is how their English name of 'The Boss' was formed. In Japan, they are known as Daikoku Danji (大国男児).

Natasha Shanta Reid (born May 31, 1981), known by her Korean name Yoon Mi-rae, is an American-born South Korean rapper and singer. She is part of the Korean hip hop crew The Movement and current member of MFBTY.

Taegoon (born Kim Tae Goon; Korean: 김태군; born January 17, 1986) is a Korean pop singer and dancer. His first television appearance was on the talent search program Battle Shinhwa in 2005. He reached the final round of the competition and was the last one to leave the group. Four years later, after completing hundreds of auditions he was finally able to start a career.

Best known as Taecyeon, is a South Korean actor, rapper, singer and entrepreneur. He is a main rapper of the South Korean boy band 2PM. In 2010 Taecyeon debuted as an actor in the Korean drama Cinderella's Sister and went on to play a main character in the KBS drama Dream High.

Before their debut, there was a high level of interest in the group as they were called the "Super Rookies" and had been training for three years prior.

Swing Girls (スウィングガールズ, Suwingu Gāruzu?) is a Japanese 2004 comedy film directed and co-written by Shinobu Yaguchi, about a group of high school girls who form a big band. The cast includes Yūta Hiraoka, Juri Ueno, Shihori Kanjiya, Yuika Motokariya and Yukari Toyashima. Supreme Team (Korean: 슈프림팀) was a South Korean hip hop duo made up of Simon Dominic (사이먼 도미닉) (born March 9, 1984) and E-Sens (이센스) (born February 9, 1987). They officially debuted in 2009 with their EP Supreme Team Guide To Excellent Adventure. Following their debut, they received a Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA) for Best New Male Group. In April 2012, E-Sens was sentenced two years of probation for smoking marijuana. E-Sens returned to the music scene in October 2012 through the release of the song "독" (Poison) from hip hop producer Primary's album, Primary and the Messengers LP. Most recently, Supreme Team revealed and performed two new songs at the 2013 Amoebahood concert. This was their first time performing new music together in two years. In July 2013, news outlets reported Supreme Team's disbandment due to E-Sens' contract termination with Amoeba Culture. E-Sens confirmed the news himself in a tweet, adding his intent to focus on his solo career. Simon D later joined as co-CEO of AOMG with Jay Park.

Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어; Syupeo Junieo) is a South Korean boy band. Formed in 2005 by producer Lee Soo-man of S.M. Entertainment, the group comprised a total of thirteen members at its peak. Super Junior originally debuted with twelve members, consisting of leader Leeteuk, Heechul, Hankyung, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kibum. Kyuhyun joined the group in 2006.

Sugar (슈가) was a South Korean girl group. Their 2003 singles Take It Shake It and Real Identity were the opening and ending theme songs respectively for Season 1 of the highly popular anime Kaleido Star. However, they had mediocre success in the South Korean market. Their last album has seen them go through an image and style change, as members have been changed. The album had less cute pop material and instead focused on rock songs and midtempo ballads. However, their albums did not have high sales. Rux is an influential street punk band from South Korea. They formed in 1996 and released their first recording in 1999. Lead vocalist Won Jong-hee, the only remaining original member, also ran Skunk Label and owned the punk music venue Skunk Hell. They gained notoriety in 2005 when friends of the band undressed on stage during the live nationwide broadcast of an episode of MBC concert show Music Camp.

Characters based on the group's members also appeared. They were also plans for the group to make their Korean debut later on. Kim Sung-jae (18 April 1972 – 20 November 1995) was a South Korean hip-hop singer, rapper and dancer, first known as the member of Deux, hip-hop duo that gained a popularity in the early 1990s. Several months after the group was disbanded, Kim released his solo album "As I Speak" (말하자면) on 19 November 1995. However, the day after his comeback performance at SBS, Kim suddenly died. The police found out 28 needle marks around his right arm and chest, and presumed his cause of death as a heart attack due to drug overdose. But after the autopsy, an animal anesthetic called 'Zoletil 50' was found and due to the point that he's right-handed his cause of death started to weight from drug overdose to the murder. Therefore his girlfriend was arrested for the alleged murder of Kim but was acquitted due to lack of murder evidence. However the case still has been considered an unsolved mystery.

Park Ye-eun (Korean: 박예은; Chinese: 朴譽恩; Japanese: パク・イェウン; born May 26, 1989), commonly known as Yeeun, Yenny (English name), or Ha:tfelt, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, composer and producer. She graduated Gyung Hee University. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Wonder Girls, which debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2007.

Lee Kyung-eun (born Lee Kyung-yeop, February 17, 1975), better known by her stage name Harisu (Hangul: 하리수; Hanja: 河莉秀), is a South Korean pop singer, model, and actress. Assigned male at birth, Harisu identified as female from early childhood, and underwent sex reassignment surgery in the 1990s. She is South Korea's first transgender entertainer, and in 2002 became only the second person in Korea to legally change their gender. Her stage name is an adaptation of the English phrase "hot issue".

Han Sunhwa (Hangul: 한선화; Hanja: 韓善伙; born October 6, 1990), is a South Korean singer and actress. She is the maknae and the visual of the South Korean girl group Secret. She made her television debut in 2004 while participating on SBS's Superstar Survival as a finalist, and in 2009, she was a regular cast on a variety show called Invincible Youth. Aside from music, she also ventured into acting and made her debut in the 2010 drama, More Charming By The Day. She also acted in several dramas with supporting roles in Ad Genius Lee Tae-baek, God's Gift - 14 Days, and Marriage, Not Dating. In 2014 she finally starred as a lead actress on MBC's weekend drama Rosy Lovers as Baek Jang Mi co-starring with actor Lee Jang Woo. CNN International Seoul listed Sunhwa as one of the nine rising "It" stars in Korean entertainment citing her as a "multi-tasking" artist. Her portrayal of Kang Se-Ah in the 2014 TVN drama, Marriage, Not Dating earned her a nomination for "Best Youth Actress" at the 16th Seoul International Youth Film Festival. In 2014, her portrayal of Jang-Mi from Rosy Lovers and Jenny from God's Gift 14 Days won her two best new actress awards from MBC and SBS Drama Awards.

Global Icon (Hangul: 지아이; acronym: GI) is a South Korean girl group formed by Simtong Entertainment in 2013. The current line-up consists of Eunji, Nayeon, Jinsil, Bomin, and Dokyung. Girls' Generation (Hangul: 소녀시대; So Nyeo Si Dae), also known as SNSD, is a South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment. Girls' Generation officially debuted on August 5, 2007 with its debut single "Into the New World" and subsequently gained some attention with their self-titled debut album. Girl's Day (Hangul: 걸스데이) is a four-member South Korean girl group formed under Dream Tea Entertainment, a subsidiary of Wellmade Yedang in 2010. Kang Hee-gun (born February 24, 1978), better known by his stage name Gary (Korean: 개리, often spelled as Garie) is a South Korean rapper. Besides a solo artist, he is also the rapper and lyricist of the hip-hop duo Leessang. Since their formation in 2002, the group has produced a total of eight albums and had several hits under their belt. In 2014, Gary made his debut as a solo artist with the mini-album Mr.Gae. Despite the album being banned by all major TV broadcast stations for its 19+ content, his songs still managed to top several charts. He and long time collaborator Jung In later went on to formed the duo, Jung In & Gary. The two released the chart topping single "Your Scent" and "Bicycle."

Gangkiz (Hangul: 갱키즈) was a South Korean girl group formed by Core Contents Media. Consisting of members Jihyun, Sooeun, Hae-in, Somin, Eunbyul, Esther, and Hyeji, the group debuted in May 2012, with their first extended play, We Became Gang. In April 2013, it was revealed that all members, with the exception of Esther and Hyeji, had departed the group. The remaining members are presumed to have disbanded sometime in 2014. No official announcement regarding the group's dissolution was ever made.

EXID (/iː ˈɛks aɪ ˈdiː/; Hangul: 이엑스아이디), an acronym for Exceed In Dreaming, is a five-member South Korean girl group, composed of Solji, LE, Hani, Hyerin and Junghwa. They debuted on February 16, 2012 with the release of "Holla". The quintet released their first EP Hippity Hop in August 2012, but it was met with limited success. Their 2014 single "Up & Down", however, reached number one on the Gaon Singles Chart four months after its initial release.

DMTN (abbreviation of Desire.Motivation.Timing.Now), previously known as Dalmatian (Korean: 달마시안), is a seven-member boyband based in South Korea, created and formerly managed by Monkey Funch Entertainment, which also manages MC Mong. The group consisted of Inati, Day Day, Donglim, Jeesu, Dari, and Daniel. Dalmatian released a 30-second music video teaser of their debut digital single, Round 1 on August 25, 2010. It was followed by the song and video's full release on September 1, 2010 and the group officially debuted on the following day on Mnet's music program M! Countdown. On May 7, 2012, Dalmatian announced that Day Day had dropped out of their group due to personal reasons, and member Simon (who had left the group before debut due to personal reasons) would rejoin the group. Member, Dari enlisted in the military immediately after promotion for "That Man Opposed" ended in 2011, which resulted in his hiatus from the group. This left Dalmatian's lineup to consist of Inati, Jeesu, Daniel, Donglim, and Simon. The group then changed its name to DMTN, following its move to a new label. Following member Daniel's drug controversy, the group has been put on hiatus, while the members pursue individuals activities.

He is best known as a member of a South Korean K-pop hip-hop group, M.I.B (band) as a rapper of the group. He made his recording debut with the single, "Do You Like Me" just before his debut as a member of M.I.B (band) He is currently signed under Jungle Entertainment.

Crayon Pop (Hangul: 크레용팝) is a South Korean girl group formed under Chrome Entertainment in 2012. The group consist of five members: Geummi, Ellin, Choa, Way and Soyul. Crayon Pop officially debuted on 19 July 2012 with their performance of "Saturday Night" on Mnet's M! Countdown. Their first EP, Crayon Pop 1st Mini Album, was not a commercial success, and when "Dancing Queen" was released in October, the group had few opportunities to promote on music shows. Instead, they promoted themselves through guerrilla performances on the streets of Seoul, which helped increase their fanbase, including their male fans called "Pop-jeossi".

'Co-Ed School' was a South Korean pop group formed by record company Core Contents Media in 2010. They consisted of Taewoon, Sungmin, Jungwoo, Hyoyoung, Hyewon, Soomi, Kwanghaeng, Kangho, Chanmi and Noori. The concept of the group was that they were of mixed gender; six males and four females. The members of the group were eventually divided into two sub-unites; an all female-group called F-ve Dolls (2011) and an all-male group Speed (2012). In 2013, Core Content Media stated that they have no plans to reform the group as their sub-units have now grown and changed line-ups to become independent ensembles.

Clazziquai Project (Hangul: 클래지콰이), also known as Clazziquai, is a South Korean experimental band that combines several genres including electronic music, acid jazz and house. The group's first short unofficial albums were released online in 2001, spreading its music through words of "netizens," who positively received the group's music. They remained underground until the release of their first album Instant Pig in 2004, selling over 80,000 copies. Since then, their music has been used in various television commercials, shows, and films, and they have been given the chance to perform at various events.

Choi Jin-ri (born March 29, 1994), better known by her stage name Sulli, is a South Korean actress. She was a former member of the South Korean girl group f(x). On August 7, it was announced that Sulli had officially withdrawn, on good terms, from the group to focus on an acting career, and that the group will continue to promote as four members with SM managing Sulli's acting endeavors.

Chocolat (Hangul: 쇼콜라, Syokolla), commonly stylized as ChoColat, is a South Korean girl group created by Paramount Music in 2011. The group's name stems from the idea that each member is reminiscent of a different type of chocolate. The name of the group was initially going to be "Chocolate", but there was already a group with that name, so Paramount Music decided to use the French word chocolat instead. Cho Joong-hoon (Hangul: 조중훈; born January 27, 1976), better known by his stage name Cho PD, is a South Korean hip hop record producer and rapper. In 2010, he announced his retirement. But in 2011, Cho PD has made his comeback with his two-part album, State of the Art and Art of Business, featuring several prominent acts such as Verbal Jint, Outsider, Dok2, Zico and Kyung of Block B, Hanhae of Phantom, Mino of Winner, E-Sens of Supreme Team and more. Cho Kyu-hyun (born February 3, 1988) is a South Korean singer and actor. Shim Chang-min (born February 18, 1988), also known by his stage name Max Changmin or simply Max, is a South Korean singer, actor, and a member of the pop group TVXQ. Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Changmin was scouted by an S.M. Entertainment talent agent when he was fourteen years old. He made his debut as TVXQ's youngest member in December 2003.

Chaelin Lee, or Lee Chae-rin (born February 26, 1991), better known by her stage name CL, is a South Korean recording artist. CB Mass (Critical Brain Mass) was a Korean hip hop group featuring members Choiza, (real name - Choi Jae-ho), Gaeko (real name - Kim Yoon-sung) and Curbin. Choiza and Gaeko originally met in the sixth grade but before forming CB Mass they began an underground hip hop group named kod along with Sixpoint and ZASON, who joined in 1998. After School (Hangul: 애프터스쿨, Katakana: アフタースクール, often stylized as AFTERSCHOOL, abbreviated as A.S.) is a South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2009, with an admissions and graduation concept. The band currently consists of seven members: Jungah, Uee, Raina, Nana, Lizzy, E-Young and Kaeun. After School officially debuted in January 2009. 15& (Korean: 피프틴앤드, also known as Fifteen And) is a South Korean duo signed under JYP Entertainment that debuted in 2012. The duo consists of Park Jimin and Baek Yerin. 15& is a combination of their ages at debut and the ‘and’ means that they can have success into the future. They released their debut single "I Dream" on October 5, 2012. They released their single "Somebody" on April 17, 2013.

10 cm (Korean: 십센치) is a South Korean indie band. The band has two male members, Kwon Jung Yeol and Yoon Cheol Jong. The name of the band, 10 cm, refers to height difference of the two core members. Since its debut in 2010 with the release of 10cm The First EP, the band has been a rookie among other Korean bands. Miss A (Hangul: 미쓰에이) was a South Korean girl group, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2010, consisting of Fei, Jia, Min, and Suzy. Jia and Min left the group in May 2016 and November 2017, respectively, before the group officially disbanded on December 27, 2017.
