The Summit

In just three seasons as head coach of the IUPUI softball program, Amanda Rivera has transformed the Jaguars into one of the up and coming softball teams not only in The Summit League, but in the Midwest.

Longtime coach and softball standout Germaine Fairchild is in her first season as head coach of the IPFW softball program. Fairchild brings 17 years of NCAA coaching experience, and has led her programs to seven postseason appearances and four conference championship game appearances.

The North Dakota State University Bison softball team is part of the athletic program at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. They are members of the NCAA Division I. The current Bison softball head coach is Darren Mueller.

Krista Wood took over the Jackrabbit softball program in August of 2014 after eight successful seasons at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., where she posted an overall record of 270-154, with a 133-60 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. In her eight years at Wayne State, Wood turned the Wildcat program into a winner, inheriting a program that posted a 10-34 record in 2006 to a school record 43 wins in 2010, when Wayne State's earned its first-ever berth in the NCAA Division II Super Regional.

Jeanne Scarpello will continue to build the Omaha softball program into a formidable Division I program in her 16th season as head coach in 2014-15. Scarpello enters the season as UNO's all-time winningest coach with a 632-204-1 career record. Her .756 winning percentage is the best in school history and ranks 25th in NCAA softball history across all divisions. Among active coaches, Scarpello owns the No. 6 winning percentage, and her mark was the best among any coach currently at a Division I institution.

Head Coach Amy Klyse enters the 2016 season with the best win percentage in program history and four wins shy of 200 in a career at USD that began in 2007. When she hits that milestone, she will be the second Coyote softball coach to achieve 200 victories.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks softball team is a member of The Summit League, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at 500-seat Mary Ellen McKee Softball Stadium.
