The Michigan Wolverines men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Earning varsity status in 1922, the program has completed its 91st season. Until the 2012-13 season, the school's team competed in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, although it competed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association between 1959 and 1981. Since the 2013-14 season, the Wolverines have competed in the Big Ten, which began sponsoring hockey.

The Michigan State Spartans men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents Michigan State University (MSU). The team plays at the Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Michigan, on the MSU campus. The current head coach is Tom Anastos, who took over coaching duties on March 23, 2011, after Rick Comley announced his retirement. Michigan State currently competes in the Big Ten Conference.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team at the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota. They are members of the Big 10 Conference and compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I ice hockey. The Golden Gophers have won five NCAA national championships, in 1974, 1976, 1979, 2002 and 2003.

The Ohio State Buckeyes men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Ohio State University. The Buckeyes are a member of the Big Ten Conference. They play at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Penn State Nittany Lions men's ice hockey, formerly known as the Penn State Icers (the name for the former ACHA team), is a college ice hockey program that represents the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to the 2012-13 season the program was designated a club sport and competed at the ACHA Division I level. PSU was previously a member of the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL, although the team competed as an independent ACHA D-I member for the 2011-12 season before moving to the NCAA D-I level.

The Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin. The team plays at the Kohl Center and is coached by former Badger and NHL player Mike Eaves. The Badgers ice hockey team competes in the Big Ten Conference.
